Plans to return Nigeria $320m looted by the former Head Of State, General Sani Abacha has been opposed by some members of the USA House Of Representative.

The speakers Steve Charlot ( co-Chair of the Nigeria Caucus in the House) and Chris Smith (Ranking Member House Committee On Foreign Affairs Africa Sub Committee) and Senator Chuck Grassley, said ” the administration should furnish assurances that the president Muhammadu Buhari-led government won’t re-loot the money before it could be returned.

The lawmaker also said that under the trnsfer agreement, some of the money would be allegedly wired to Abubarka Bagudu, Kebbi State Governor who was allegedly fingered as having aided and abetted Abacha’s loot. Besides, since the Nigerian government has not reportedly shown a willingness to cooperate with the Trump’s administration over its demanded for disclosure on the rest of Abacha’s loots, the lawmakers stressed that planned repatriation be put on hold”.

Hmmm, see how they are giving conditions before they would release our own money..
