Ever since the announcement was made, residents of the Estate has raised an alarm to the State Governor Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu on the need to act fast over the death of the CSO.
Report has it that five days ago Raheem died before he was taken to the hospital and was later retunred home for burial that same day because he was a Muslim. Full body purification was performed on the deceased body and this practice is the reason why the alarm is being raised. It is believed that families and friends who came to pay their condolence visit to the deceased family are more likely to be vulnerable to this virus. This is a religious right the Muslims engage in before burial and it is risky with the recent covid-19 outbreak.
Judging from and eye witness account, it was believed that more than 50 police officers were at the residence of the deceased so as to pay their last respect.
Jumu’ah Abiodun a journalist based in Lagos said “that the wife, families and politicians and other people who visited should be traced and quarantined ASAP, because a Stitch in time saves nine”.
